Stadium Construction

posted Jul 22, 2016, 11:27 AM by Alexander Tuilosega

Dear Neighbors of Benicia High School and Mary Farmar Elementary School,

Thank you for your support of our Measure S Bond that is providing improvements to our Benicia Schools.
We are pleased to be nearing the construction start for the Benicia High School Stadium, Track and Field
Renovation project.

The District Board has approved the project which consists of new track surface, new synthetic football field,
pole vault, long and high jump, shot put, discuss, bleachers and supporting building spaces for concessions,
bathrooms, storage and team rooms. Generally the location and area of the renovations fit within the existing
upper field footprint.

The contractors will be mobilizing on site July 18 – 23rd and full construction will begin the following week.
Construction completion is anticipated in the second quarter of 2017. The hours of construction will be from
7:00 a.m. through 5:00 p.m Monday through Friday and some Saturdays.

For the summer months, construction access will be from West Military street via either the Mary Farmar
Elementary School entrance, the entrance to the upper High School parking lot or the entrance adjacent to the
High School tennis courts. During the school year, construction access from Mary Farmar Elementary School
will no longer be utilized and access from the High School will be timed and isolated as much as able to
minimize cross traffic between the High School traffic and the construction traffic.

Summer 2016, the Benicia High School campus is completely closed to the public. The pedestrian path from
Drolette Drive through Mary Farmar Elementary to the Benicia High School will be closed to all for the entire
construction duration.

The contractors will be utilizing best practices to minimize any impact on the neighboring properties. Should
you have concerns please direct them to our Bond Director, Roxanne Egan via email at

Regan@BeniciaUnified.org.

We will do all we can to minimize impact on the neighbors and appreciate your patience throughout the
construction. We are excited to realize a new stadium for our students and community. Once again, thank
you for your support of our Bond and School improvement projects.
