Sources for eBooks & Audio Books
- ESL Bits: A collection of novels, novellas, and short stories in both print and audio. Originally designed for English Language Learners, this is a good resource for any student.
- Audible Stories – A limited free service that allows you to stream a small collection that includes titles across six different languages. No account/sign-in required.
- Project Gutenberg: This website has a large library of free books in PDF and Kindle formats. You can find many classic texts here (such as Pride & Prejudice, Frankenstein, etc.)
- Access BHS eBooks on your phone, Kindle, Chromebook, etc. Your Destiny username is your school ID number and your password is your school computer login password.
- ProQuest Ebook Central database. User name to access the database remotely is benicia and the password is Panthersrock1! Note: In order to download ebooks, you will need to create an account with your own username & password.
Use your BPL OneCard to access Libby App for eBooks & Audiobooks
Benicia Public Library: Access a large collection of eBooks and audio books (download the Overdrive or Libby app to read/listen on your device). You will need to use a BPL/Solano library card OR your BUSD OneCard to access these books.
In order to log in to your BPL account, enter BEN followed by your student ID number, your month & date of your birthday (MMDD) and your last name. Example:
Library ID/EZ Username: BEN12345
Last Name or EZ Password: your last name
Phone (last four digits): month & date of your birthday — 0203 for February 3rd
