There was a small curtain fire due to contact with a light in the PAB today, prior to the start of the musical. Everyone did an excellent job of responding, evacuated safely, and as a result no one was injured and the damage was to the curtain only. A big thank you to Benicia Fire Department and Benicia Police Department for their help today.
As a result, you may smell smoke in the lobby and PAB areas. We are working to clean the area and the smell. A big thank you to everyone involved in that effort and those who put in extra time to help.
We do plan to hold Friday and Saturday’s shows of Mamma Mia! and are working to try to reschedule today’s matinee show to next Sunday. (More info on that will go out to ticket holders and the public when we can confirm plans.)
We will be holding a meeting for the cast and crew of the musical on Monday at 8:30am in N2 to debrief, discuss, and support the students. They will be notified via Mr. Day’s Google Classroom to join the meeting.
