To help reduce viral spread when schools are experiencing higher than normal levels of illness, the CDC encourages students, staff and parents to take the following preventative actions:
*Stay home when you are sick, or have a fever over 100 degrees, rest and drink plenty of fluids.
*Cover your mouth and nose with tissue when coughing/sneezing, or use the inside of your elbow if tissue isn’t available. Throw tissue in trash and wash your hands.
*Wash hands frequently with soap and water especially before eating.
*Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth-germs spread this way.
*Clean and disinfect surfaces or objects touched frequently at home, school and work especially when someone is ill.
*Get a flu shot to help protect against the virus.
